Sloped Storage

This job started as just a wide-open parking lot on a customer's property that was neither meeting his needs nor fulfilling its full potential. Myron called us after having hired MQS to build him a pole barn, and he needed site preparation, including excavation in Kalispell, to create a functional area for his tractor and tool storage.

This is what the space looked like when we first arrived. Thankfully, it had a decent base, but it was a long way from being level.
Using a laser level and a whole lot of gravel, brought in gravel to bring the space up to level, keeping it above the grade of the surrounding area to prevent water drainage issues. We lifted it only as much as necessary to achieve proper drainage and a level surface, which is crucial for a solid foundation in pole barn construction especially with a concrete floor.
Working from larger gravel to smaller, we built a base that allows for proper drainage, compacting each lift of gravel to prevent settling over time. This careful process ensures a durable foundation for the pole barn and a stable parking area.

Finally, we finished it off with a topcoat of 3/4" gravel, in accordance with concrete requirements, to create a durable gravel parking lot that’s easy to maintain and access.
Not pictured is the after photo when the building was erected. We returned and graded out the rest of the parking area to facilitate easy access to the concrete floor inside the pole barn, creating a smooth, gradual parking and driving area out front.

This project highlights our expertise in site preparation, including excavation Kalispell, and our ability to deliver quality pole barn construction and gravel parking solutions tailored to our clients’ needs.
